Note: Since the fall of Saddam we have received numerous orders for the stamps and banknotes of Iraq after the Gulf War to the extend that we are sold out of everything (well; almost everything).  Now that Iraq is liberated and the new currency has been placed into circulation, it is expected that the Iraq Post will issue new stamps.   The following list is for reference and image viewing only.   Prices are NOT VALID any more, only a handful of sets are available (marked AVAILABLE) at these prices.  It is expected that once the market stabilize, the prices for Iraqi stamps will increase several fold (June 2004).

NOTE: Anticipating further inflation the above mentioned 250 Fils Postal Savings stamps (yellow color), were overprinted in Red with 500, 2500, 5000 Dinars. The stamps were never placed into circulation and were devalued Feb. 1,1996. Later on these high value surcharged stamps were re-surcharged with lower values as well as a red horizontal line which covers the original high value. 	Some overprinted stamps came to market and were featured in Linn’s, however, these are all privately produced.  The first issue after Saddam is the transportation set of 5, printed in 2003 and placed into circulation in January of 2004.
Year 2004
#1699-1703	First issue of the Coalition Provisional Authority, Old means of transportation, set of 5 Quantity issued is one million sets which is way way beyond 20-30 thousands sets issued during the Saddam era. With the postal system in Iraq not functioning fully, the chances are that this set will be in use for quite sometime.  We do not anticipate any new issues till sometime 2006.		$8.50
Two interesting items
Not listed in Scott	In mid 1999 a FIFA souvenir sheet, commemorating the Soccer Cup in Italy came to market.  This Souvenir Sheet was printed in 1990 in Egypt, like all other Iraqi stamps, and was sent to Amman, Jordan to be transported to Iraq. However, the Gulf War delayed the delivery for 9 years, and when eventually it was sent to Baghdad, the 500 Fils Face Value was too small to be used for postage.  According to reports all the stock was destroyed.  It is believed that 100-200 pieces came to market, and were sold mainly in Germany.
